About Therapy.

Psychotherapy offers an opportunity for growth, empowerment, and change. At the same time, beginning therapy may feel like a daunting experience - it takes great courage to turn up somewhere new and begin sharing your inner world with another person.

Lauren's approach to therapy is thoughtful and interactive. She has a special interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This therapeutic approach is both exploratory and reflective in nature. The therapist and patient work together to understand the patient’s emotional experiences, identify recurring patterns (in actions, thoughts, feelings and relationships), and consider how the patient’s personal and family history shape the present. The therapeutic relationship itself is also an integral component of this approach. Psychodynamic psychotherapy has been shown to support symptom relief and bring about meaningful and lasting change.
